The event will take place in-person between 16:00-18:00pm CET (Central European Time) on Monday, June 30, 2025, the first-day of the COLT 2025 conference dedicated to workshops, tutorials, & community events. The theme of this event is to explore strategies for building impactful research agendas across all areas of learning theory, and effectively communicating theoretical insights – both within the diverse COLT community and to the broader machine learning world.

The event will begin with a fireside chat with a learning theory research about their advice on how to communicate their research to a broad audience. Following the fireside chat, we will have a break for refreshments, followed by a mentorship roundtable event in which attendees will be randomly sorted to tables for small group discussion. Following a short how-to on delivering effective elevator pitches, participants will practice their “elevator pitch” for their research (or areas of interest if they are getting started with research), and receive feedback from mentors at their assigned table. Mentors will lead a discussion session after the activity to allow participants to ask questions and share their understanding.

To attend the event, a registration for COLT 2025 is necessary.
